Protection

 When something happens that makes me feel like this is out of my control My first response was to word vomit to you (thank you) instead of what It should have been which is to take a step back and make some space to ask how I am to see these circumstances.

I never want to have to have another conversation with him. I named him a “thorn in the flesh" and pray that God take it away him away because he continues in sin. Gods answer to Paul is the same as it is to me "Dont ask Me again to remove this thorn in the flesh. This is My answer and it stands. My grace is sufficient for you. Paul, for power is perfected in weakness."

What does obedience look like here? Releasing/yielding my grip on some things, starting with my girls. I want to cling to comfort in knowing what He is doing with this, anticipating every hurt my girls are going to face, and finding my peace in my efforts. This week he asked that I entrust my daughters heart to him, specifically this weekend. So that means To curl her hair the way she wants, and delight in her beauty. This place of pain is the source of his transformative power from death to life.

To decide tha my home will have a posture of praise.

To believe there is still beauty in marriage after so much betrayal infidelity.

To believe that Christ is their shepherd, and that my girls heart does not rest in the hands of a broken man.

He told me that he will take care of the space in her heart that is left wanting. I can be confident because of my union with Christ,

hough an army encamp against me,
    my heart shall not fear;
though war arise against me,
    yet[b] I will be confident.

One thing have I asked of the Lord,
    that will I seek after:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
    all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord
    and to inquire[c] in his temple.

For he will hide me in his shelter
    in the day of trouble;
he will conceal me under the cover of his tent;
    he will lift me high upon a rock.

And now my head shall be lifted up
    above my enemies all around me,
and I will offer in his tent
    sacrifices with shouts of joy;
I will sing and make melody to the Lord.

Hear, O Lord, when I cry aloud;
    be gracious to me and answer me!
You have said, “Seek[d] my face.”
My heart says to you,
    “Your face, Lord, do I seek.”[e]
    Hide not your face from me.
Turn not your servant away in anger,
    O you who have been my help.
Cast me not off; forsake me not,
    O God of my salvation!
10 For my father and my mother have forsaken me,
    but the Lord will take me in.

11 Teach me your way, O Lord,
    and lead me on a level path
    because of my enemies.
12 Give me not up to the will of my adversaries;
    for false witnesses have risen against me,
    and they breathe out violence.

13 I believe that I shall look[f] upon the goodness of the Lord
    in the land of the living!
14 Wait for the Lord;
    be strong, and let your heart take courage;
    wait for the Lord!

“My brothers and sisters, I continually face death. This is as sure as my boasting of you and our co-union together in the life of our Lord Jesus Christ, who gives me confidence to share my experiences with you. Foolish man! Don’t you know that what you sow in the ground doesn’t germinate unless it dies? But when it dies, God gives it a new form, a body to fulfill his purpose, and he sees to it that each seed gets a new body of its own and becomes the plant he designed it to be. The body is “sown” in decay, but will be raised in immortality. It is “sown” in humiliation, but will be raised in glorification. It is “sown” in weakness but will be raised in power. If there is a physical body, there is also a spiritual body. Once we carried the likeness of the man of dust, but now let us carry the likeness of the man of heaven. And when that which is mortal puts on immortality, and what now decays is exchanged for what will never decay, then the Scripture will be fulfilled that says: Death is swallowed up by a triumphant victory! It is sin that gives death its sting and the law that gives sin its power. But we thank God for giving us the victory as conquerors through our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One. So now, beloved ones, stand firm, stable, and enduring. Live your lives with an unshakable confidence. We know that we prosper and excel in every season by serving the Lord, because we are assured that our union with the Lord makes our labor productive with fruit that endures.

But now, independently of the law, the righteousness of God is tangible and brought to light through Jesus, the Anointed One. This is the righteousness that the Scriptures prophesied would come. It is God’s righteousness made visible through the faithfulness of Jesus Christ. And now all who believe in him receive that gift. For there is really no difference between us, Yet through his powerful declaration of acquittal, God freely gives away his righteousness. His gift of love and favor now cascades over us, all because Jesus, the Anointed One, has liberated us from the guilt, punishment, and power of sin! And when the season of tolerance came to an end, there was only one possible way for God to give away his righteousness and still be true to both his justice and his mercy—to offer up his own Son. So now, because we stand on the faithfulness of Jesus, God declares us righteous in his eyes! So our conclusion is this: God’s wonderful declaration that we are righteous in his eyes can only come when we put our faith in Christ, and not in keeping the law.”

The Lord is my light and my salvation;

The Lord is the stronghold[a] of my life;

“Yet you eat the fat, you shear the sheep to make your clothes, you slaughter the fattest sheep for your feasts, but you never feed the flock. You haven’t cared for the weak ones, brought healing to the sick, nor bandaged those who are injured. You haven’t looked for the strays nor brought the lost back to the fold. Instead, you have ruled over them cruelly and treated them harshly. Because there was no shepherd to care for the sheep, they were scattered and were eaten by every wild beast. My flock has wandered aimlessly over every hill and mountain over the face of the earth, and no one went to look for them or tried to find them. As surely as I live, declares Lord Yahweh—my sheep have become the prey of every wild beast. Since there was no shepherd to protect my sheep, they have been devoured. My shepherds have not searched for my sheep; they have cared for themselves and not the flock. Lord Yahweh says: Behold, I am against you selfish shepherds! I will hold you accountable for my flock, and I will demand that you return my flock to me. No longer will you feed only yourselves because I will rescue my sheep from your mouths. You will help yourselves to my sheep no longer.’ ” “For Lord Yahweh says: ‘From now on, I will personally search for my sheep and look after them. As a good shepherd searches after his scattered sheep, so I will look after my sheep and rescue them from wherever they have been scattered on the day of disaster. I will bring them back from foreign countries and gather them together as my flock and return them to their own land. I will feed them on the mountains of Israel, in the valley streams and in all the fertile places. I will feed them in fair meadows and on the slopes of the mountains of Israel. There they will lie down in good grazing grounds and graze in green pastures on the mountains of Israel. I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep, and I will give them rest. I will seek out the lost one, bring back the stray, bandage the injured, and heal those that are sick. I will watch over the fat and healthy of the flock. I will be a true, caring shepherd to them. I, Lord Yahweh, have spoken. I will come and save my sheep and rescue them from being victimized. I will judge between one sheep and another. “ ‘I will raise up one shepherd over them, like my servant David, and put him in charge of my flock to feed them. He will care for them and be their shepherd. I, Yahweh, will be their God, and my servant, like David, will be their prince taken from among them. I, Yahweh, have spoken. I will make a covenant of peace with them and rid the land of its wild beasts. Then they will be able to live securely in the wilderness and sleep soundly in the forest. And I will make them and the places all around my sacred hill a blessing. And I will send showers of blessing —showers will come down in their season. And the tree of the field will yield its luscious fruit, the earth will yield its harvest, and they will live safely in their own land. When I set them free from slavery and rescue them from the hands of those who enslaved them, then they will acknowledge that I am Yahweh. Foreign powers will no longer plunder them; the wild beasts of the land will no longer feast on them. They will live safe and secure, with no one to frighten them. I will establish for them a planting of renown so that they will no longer suffer from famine. And they will no longer have to endure the insults of other nations. So they will know that I, Yahweh, am with them as their God. And they, the people of Israel, will know that they are my people—declares the Lord Yahweh. And you, my people, are my sheep, the flock of my pasture are people, and I am your God. I, Lord Yahweh, have spoken.’ ””
