bible verses

So this is just an example of what my time with Jesus looked like this morning and I was so neat to have him show me more of what we were talking about this week together as sisters

We have been talking so much about how to go deeper in our walks with Christ. How to have a deep love for Jesus that just is all consuming.

What I was reading this morning was just God saying, I want to reveal more to you.

The first passage I came to:

1 Cor 1:27God chose what is low and despised in the world, to bring to nothing, things that are- so that no human being might boast in the presence of God. And because of Him you are in Christ Jesus who became to us- wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption- so that- let the one who boast, boast in the Lord”

So when we talked about understanding the Triune God, being God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He showed me 1 Cor 2: Proclaiming Christ Crucified. "I was with you in weakness and in fear and much trembling, my message was not from words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

It’s so sweet to know He is daily revealing himself to us!  I pray that He would reveal Himself more and more to us by His word.

So once He showed what Jesus Christ did, he then goes to explain

"Wisdom from the Spirit"

1Cor 2:6-16

“Yet among the mature we do impart wisdom, although it is not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are doomed to pass away. But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory. None of the rulers of this age understood this, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But, as it is written, “What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”— these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit.

For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. For who knows a person’s thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual.

The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one. “For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.”

We have the mind of Christ! He promises to reveal himself to us if we daily seek him.

I prayed that we both would stay steadfast in prayer and His Word. That our love for the Word will just grow our insatiable hunger for Him. He has so much that He wants to reveal to us through his Word.

So our pursuit of wisdom in Him is not by our works but His complete grace. And that grace comes from quiet literally our Faith in God. He transforms us in the image of Christ. I am so prone to wander. Declaring my "total depravity" to Jesus saying there is nothing good in me, nothing I can boast in in my life,

1 Cor 4: 13 -20

"We have become, and are still, like the scum of the world, the refuse of all things.

14 I do not write these things to make you ashamed, but to admonish you as my beloved children. 15 For though you have countless[a] guides in Christ, you do not have many fathers. For I became your father in Christ Jesus through the gospel. 16 I urge you, then, be imitators of me. 17 That is why I sent[b] you Timothy, my beloved and faithful child in the Lord, to remind you of my ways in Christ,[c] as I teach them everywhere in every church. 18 Some are arrogant, as though I were not coming to you. 19 But I will come to you soon, if the Lord wills, and I will find out not the talk of these arrogant people but their power. 20 For the kingdom of God does not consist in talk but in power. 21 What do you wish? Shall I come to you with a rod, or with love in a spirit of gentleness?

This thinking has changed my heart. He changes us by his love not by his rules of right living. There is nothing good in us, there is nothing we can do to "get us closer to God" but his Spirit of Love and Gentleness has shown me that He will meet me where ever I am in my walk with Christ. He knows it ALL and wants to gently lead us like a father into abundant life with Him. What an incredible father we serve.

“Nevertheless, I am continually with you; you hold my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will receive me to glory. Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. But for me it is good to be near God; I have made the Lord God my refuge, that I may tell of all your works.”
