Easter 2020- Jesus came near to me

“The leading priests, the teachers of religious law also mocked Jesus. “He saved others,” they scoffed, “but he can’t save himself! So he is the King of Israel, is he? Let him come down from the cross right now, and we will believe in Him! He trusted God, let God rescue Him now if he really wants him...”
“... then the veil in the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom...”
“... and be sure of this: I am with You, always. Even to the end of the age.”
There aren’t really adequate words to describe what this historical moment means to me, even more-so in these trying days.
He broke so we could be whole
He was mocked so we could be treasured.
He was beaten so we could be healed.
He was hated so we could be unconditionally loved & accepted.
He was stripped naked so we could have dignity.
On a hill... *He created.*
Nailed to a tree... *He made.*
By the hands of men *He personally & physically & wonderfully knit together* in the womb. (*tears*)
He carried the heavy load of the Cross to open an invitation for us to forever carry a lighter load.
So when the world is in chaos & the days are heavy & the future seems scary & secure economies crash & precious lives are lost & it’s not safe to openly breathe...
THIS day... a Good Friday... the day that split time... the day the sky went dark... the day where hope seemed lost... this day, 2000 years ago, transcends time to remind me that the GOD who went to the greatest lengths of torn veils to be CLOSE to us again... didn’t change His mind. Even now.
His load is light, the invitation stands.
He is closer than ever.
He is with us, always.
Even to the end of the age.
Undefeated, permanently victorious, the most extravagant gesture of power & love in the history of the world.
The Cross is the display.
And Sunday is the proof.
Jesus. Sweet Jesus. Thank You.

Today I am grateful for a King that took all the disappointment, pain, brokenness, to the cross. Our loving Savior
and redeem and restore and revive our souls and give us life, joy, a peace that surpassess all understanding, grace, hope, and a life with him.
I find it a testiment of Gods Grace that we were able to celebrate at home, worshipping and praying together. There is nothing better that I will experience on Earth. To sing in the midst of a fearful time- "it is well with my soul."
